Strawberry villas

These two gorgeous new villas are an excellent choice for a relaxing beach holiday. The bungalows are located just 3 minutes walk from the long sandy beach and the shops and tavernas of St. George, which has the added attraction that a car is not necessary. The centre of the village runs along the beautiful sandy beach and has a wide selection of holiday facilities, including a children's playground. Both villas are well equipped and comfortably furnished as true ‘homes from home' in the sun. Outside covered verandas provide shade and both houses have walled gardens for ‘al fresco' dining.

Accommodation                                                                                                    The villas are situated on the edge of Agios Georgios (south Corfu), making it peaceful yet accessible. They are luxury holiday rentals at a budget price and a perfect place for a relaxing family holiday. The villas belong to a private English owner who has been working in the tourism business for many years. They can be rented separately, but are also ideal if you want to spend your holiday together with family or friends.

Strawberry villa I (sleeps up to 6)   Newly build, pretty detached villa with three separate bedrooms. You enter the spacious lounge which is tastefully furnished and has an open plan kitchen/dining area. The fully equipped kitchen with built-in appliances has a four ring hob with extractor fan, oven, micro wave, dishwasher and a fridge/freezer. There are three separate bedrooms, a master bedroom with a double bed and en suite bathroom with shower, and two twin bedrooms with a shared bathroom with washing machine and bath. Outside are covered verandas and a small garden with a decked area for outside dining.   

Strawberry villa II (sleeps up to 4 pers)   Newly build, pretty semi-detached villa with two separate bedrooms. You enter the spacious lounge which is tastefully furnished and has an open plan kitchen/dining area. The fully equipped kitchen with built-in appliances has a four ring hob with extractor fan, oven, micro wave, dishwasher and a fridge/freezer. The villa has two separate twin bedrooms with a shared bathroom with washing machine and bath. Outside are covered verandas and a small garden for outside dining.  

Facilities:  both houses are equipped with air conditioning (at an extra charge), ventilators, fly screens, satellite TV (limited channels), DVD player, a coffee machine, an electric kettle and a toaster. Guests may use the swimming pool and its facilities of a small apartment complex nearby (only one minute walk away). A child cot and a high chair, available on request, are free of charge.

Particular details:  maid service and change of linen, once a week. Extra maid service is available at 30 euros a day. Private parking. A transfer from the airport, catered meals and a welcome hamper upon arrival can be arranged on request.

Agios Georgios, south

Surrounded by olive trees and close to the conservation area Lake Korission, Agios Georgios offers a relaxing holiday off the main tourist tracks. The resort is located on the south west coast of  the island, about 30 km's from Corfu town and is also known as St. George, not to be confused with the other Agios Georgios in the north of Corfu. It's a well developed resort with a laidback ambiance and a choice of excellent beaches, popular with couples, families and senior citizens. St. George is an ideal location for a relaxing holiday by the sea and offers, compared to other resorts on Corfu, a more ‘Greek' experience. There are a few local shops, a good selection of family-run beach side tavernas and a handful of bars. Join the locals for a glass of home made wine and enjoy their delicious cuisine whilst watching the sunset on the horizon.

Agios Georgios boasts three wonderful golden sandy beaches, which are considered to be amongst the best in Corfu. From St. George beach it stretches to Issos beach and Halikouna beach, 10 km's in length, so you can be sure of finding a secluded spot to yourself even during the high season. Fine sands offer the ideal place to laze in the sun, while children can have endless fun building sandcastles and swim in the safely shallow water. Water sports lovers can indulge in a variety of activities, such as paragliding, snorkeling and windsurfing. For those who prefer to enjoy a simple day out at sea, boats are available for hire. 

Although this part of Corfu is not as well known as the north, more and more visitors are beginning to discover its attractions. Walkers and cyclists can enjoy trips into the beautiful countryside and visit some of the classic Greek villages like Chlomos and Argyrades, where you feel like time has stood still. Along the beach you can walk all the way down to the unspoiled conservation area Lake Korission and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The beautiful saltwater lagoon is home to rare vegetation and a haven for many rare bird species. From Lefkimmi port (10 kms) there is a regular ferry crossing to Igoumenitsa on the Greek mainland and different day excursions by boat can be made from Kavos. An absolute must is a mini cruise to the beautiful islands of Paxos and Antipaxos with their aqua blue waters and impressive caves.
