Villa Nafsika

Set upon an olive-covered hillside between the traditional village of Pelekas and the sparkling blue sea, this lovely holiday home boasts views that take your breath away. Terrace and garden overlook the stunning coastline below and the golden beach of Kontogialos. When you wake up in the morning, the only sounds are the rush of the waves and the chirping of the crickets. It's an excellent choice if you want to relax and unwind from the demands of a busy life.

Although the location of the house is private and secluded, the most beautiful beaches of Corfu and many of the island's main places of interest are all within easy reach. The sandy beach of Kontogialos is only a kilometer away and a ten minute drive takes you to the popular beaches of Glyfada and Agios Gordis, with their trendy bars and a varied watersports. Corfu town, with great shopping, sightseeing and excellent restaurants is a half an hour's drive away. Those who love fun and action in the water should definitely visit Aqualand, the most amazing waterpark in Europe.

Accommodation                                                                                                                                    Villa Nafsika stands in a garden of 4200 square metres and was completed in 2008. It has been designed to take full advantage of the long hours of sunshine, particularly in the evening when you can watch the famous sunsets enjoyed on the west coast. A covered terrace with a wooden beamed ceiling runs along the length of the house and is the perfect place for late outdoor breakfasts or romantic candle-lit dinners.

Villa Nafsika is a detached, stone bungalow built in traditional Corfiot style. It belongs to a private owner and is tastefully furnished. From the hall, with a separate WC, you enter the spacious open plan kitchen/dining/sitting room with a sofa bed and a fire place. French doors open to a covered terrace, which has a built in BBQ and is comfortable for outside dining. The luxury kitchen with built-in appliances is equipped with an electric oven, a four-ring hob with extractor fan, a fridge, a dish washer and a microwave. The villa has two separate bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two single beds, and a shared bathroom with shower cubicle.

Facilities: the house is fully equipped with a dish washer, microwave, coffee machine, an electric kettle, and a toaster.

Particular details: cleaning, change of towels and sheets twice a week. Please note prices include a welcome pack. The house is situated on an unpaved road, therefore a rented car is a must.

Pelekas

For many years the lively village of Pelekas has been a favourite hideaway for independent holidaymakers who visit Corfu year after year. They are all captivated by the spectacular scenery of the west coast, the beautiful golden sandy beaches and the warm hospitality of the locals. It's a perfect place for an unforgettable stay in Corfu.

Pelekas is located about 12 kilometers west of Corfu town and the airport. Set on top of a hill, the village is known for its beautiful views over the island and to the Ionian Sea. In the days before the First World War, Kaiser Wilhelm II would visit this area frequently to enjoy the spectacular sunsets, which can be best viewed from the so-called ‘Kaiser's Throne'.

The centre of Pelekas is a labyrinth of lanes and alleyways, and offers an excellent choice of local shops, coffee bars and tavernas. A regular bus service links the village with Corfu town, and during the high season the local council runs a complimentary bus service to Kontogialos, a quiet sandy beach ideal for family swimming. Popular beaches like Glyfada and Agios Gordis, with their trendy bars and a varied water sports, are only a few minutes away by car. In the centre of Pelekas, walkers can pick up the Corfu Trail, a trekking route which runs from the south of the island to its northernmost point. The Corfu Golf and Country Club, one of Europe's finest, is just 4 kilometers away.
