Manavra
This idyllic three bedroom villa is built in an extensive olive grove and offers spectacular views over the Ionian Sea. It's beautifully designed in a traditional and romantic style by a very talented local architect and offers some lovely original features, including a master bedroom in a Romeo and Juliet style with a turret lookout. Outside there is a shaded sitting area with a barbecue, a charming covered dining area, and centerpiece is a curtained lounging deck at the side of the pool with magnificent panoramic views. If you are looking for peace, tranquility and a piece of heaven on earth, Manavra is a perfect choice.
The house is situated on the edge of the old Venetian village of Agios Markos, a leisurely 30 minute drive from the airport. Although the location is private and secluded, the villa has easy access to the beaches of the north-east coast and to Corfu Town with great shopping, sightseeing and excellent restaurants. This makes Manavra particular suitable for couples or families with older children. The nearest beach, a supermarket and a variety of shops, restaurants and bars are only 2.5 kilometers away in the resort of Ipsos. People seeking the ‘real' Corfu can explore the beautiful green area by foot, or rent a mountain bike. Other local facilities include horse riding, sailing and golfing.
Accommodation Hidden between the olive groves, Manavra stands in its own enclosed garden. The interior design is sophisticated, and all furnishings are immensely comfortable. The villa was built in 2004 and has been designed to take full advantage of the long hours of sunshine. Around the infinity pool a sunny wooded-decked terrace was created, for a relaxing afternoon of sunbathing but if you'd rather take a ‘siesta', a romantic lounging daybed awaits your slumber. What better place to forget the routine of everyday life.

Agios Markos
Dating back to the 11th century and before, this old Venetian village is set on the green slopes of the Pantokrator mountain range. Agios Markos is a peaceful haven with a colourful history and is situated in the northern part of Corfu, about 3 kilometres from the popular tourist resort of Ipsos. Due to a landslide, many of the village's stone houses were deserted, but over the past 30 years it has had a new lease of life, with houses being rebuilt in the traditional style and further ongoing renovations.Agios Markos has a fantastic view over the bay of Ipsos and onwards towards Corfu Town, which is only about 30 minutes by car. It's renowned for its two interesting churches. The church of Agios Merkourious stands just below the village, in a narrow plain covered with olive and orange groves. It was built and decorated in 1074-5 and is one of the oldest Byzantine churches on Corfu with frescoes dating from the eleventh, fourteenth and fifteenth centuries. A short way above the village is the church of Christ Pandokrator which dates back to 1577. Again, the church is particularly interesting for its frescoes and views out to Corfu Town.
A few kilometers further along the road you find the typical Greek village of Ano Korakiana. It's a beautiful mountain village, with toy like houses which look like they have been planted on the mountainside, and magnificent views over the surrounding olive groves and the sea. The village is known as the village with its thirty-seven churches and its traditional choral music. It boasts a Philarmonic Orchestra founded in 1958, underlining musical traditions that started in 1623.
Along the coast are beautiful pebble beaches in the resrots of Dassia, Barbati and Ipsos, which offer a great variety of water sports and other facilities. In the background there's the impressive Pantokrator, Corfu's highest mountain. This makes Agios Markos an ideal base for those who like to make long distance walks, scenic drives by car, or discover this beautiful area by mountain bike. In Dassia you can rent a Giant MTB at the Corfu Mountainbike Shop or participate in organized tours. Other local facilities include horse riding (The Trailriders in Ano Korakiana), sailing and golfing at the Corfu Golf and Country Club (18 holes), which is just 15 kilometres away.
