Tucked away in the lush heartland of Corfu, a small paradise offers a quiet and relaxing holiday. Travelmaker offers you the opportunity to stay at this 17th century Venetian mansion which belongs to the Spathas family. Those who watched the BBC film ‘My Family and Other Animals', based on Gerald Durell's book, will recognize the building as ‘the Strawberry Pink Villa'. Its present owner, Spyros Spathas, has restored the mansion and its outhouses to create a beautiful bungalow-hotel, which features much of the original Corfiot architecture. Part of the complex contains a small museum, where you can admire the old olive press machinery.
Fundana is set on a ridge and offers fantastic panoramic views of Corfu's unspoiled inland landscape, a true oasis of peace and harmony. It is surrounded by gardens of bougainvillea, hibiscus, plum and almond trees, and endless olive groves. The area is ideal for walking; once a week the owner leads a free garden walk with botanic explanations. Because of its secluded location, Travelmaker offers Fundana Villas in combination with a rented car. In addition, we pamper you with a delicious breakfast served at your apartment on the day after your arrival and a welcome hamper with various traditional Corfiot products.
Facilities: Reception/lounge with TV, video games and a billiard-table. Private swimming pool area with separate children's pool, pool bar, and terrace with sun beds and umbrellas (free of charge).
Particular details: All apartments are equipped with a coffee machine, an electric kettle, TV and direct dial phone line. Cleaning: Five times per week. Change of towels and sheets: Twice a week.
Apartments: All 12 studios and two-room apartments are contained within the main complex and its annexes. Each unit has a different lay out and depending on the type of room can accommodate 2-6 people. Every unit has a dining area, fully equipped kitchenette for light meals, bathroom with shower or bath and a garden or balcony.

Fundana Villas is a perfect starting point to explore the island. The nearest beach, only six kilometres away, is Paleokastritsa, with its fabulous turquoise waters and pristine beaches. Here you can enjoy different water sports or rent a small motor boat and discover the magnificent west coast from the water. One of Corfu's most famous sights is the impressive Theotokos Monastery, which also houses a museum with valuable icons. Golfers can play at the magnificent greens in the Ropa Valley, and for a day of fun and action in the water, you must visit Aqualand, the most amazing waterpark in Europe. When the sun goes down, it's time to relax and have a lovely meal in one of the traditional villages in the vicinity.
