Villa Aphrodite

Surrounded by rich greenery on the lower slopes of Mount Pantokrator and set between the traditional village of Spartillas and the sparkling blue sea, Villa Aphrodite offers a genuinely ‘get-away-from-it-all' holiday. Extensive terraces offer wide panoramic views over the bays and headlands of the coast, and ancient olive trees provide shade in the paved garden which leads down in terraces to the swimming pool. Super-size sunbeds invite you for a relaxing afternoon of sunbathing, and if you'd rather take a ‘siesta', a huge hammock awaits your slumber. With easy access to the beach and to coastal resorts with evening entertainment to suit all ages, Villa Aphrodite is a perfect choice if you want to spend your vacation with another family or group of friends.

Accommodation
Recently renovated to a high standard, this beautiful villa extends over two levels, each laid out and equipped as an independent unit. All furnishings - big couches made from natural fibres, exquisite lamps and king-size four poster beds - were brought from the USA and Morocco. The interior design is sophisticated, and all furnishings are immensely comfortable. The villa is set in a natural garden of olive, cypress and fruit trees with Mediterranean flowering plants and meandering stone walls and paths.

Upper house: Large sitting room opens on to a covered dining terrace and outdoor sitting area for sunbathing. From this terrace, steps lead down to the swimming pool (9m x 4m). Fully equipped kitchen separated from passage by a breakfast counter. Master double bedroom with en suite bathroom. Twin bedroom and single bedroom (with pull-out extra bed suitable for a child) with shared bathroom.

Lower house: Large sitting room, with rugs and kilims in softly faded colours, opens on to covered terrace with outdoor dining tables and the swimming pool area. Fully equipped kitchen separated from passage by a breakfast counter. Master bedroom with double bed and en suite bathroom. Twin bedroom and single bedroom (with pull-out extra bed suitable for a child) with shared bathroom.

Facilities (same for each house): dishwasher, TV, DVD player, iPod docking station, telephone, internet access, air conditioning/heat and ceiling fans in every room, safety deposit box.

Particular details: Maid service up to three hours six days per week, linen change twice weekly. Rentals preferably start on mondays, but the owner is flexible. 

Barbati

The resort of Barbati is located on the northeast coast of Corfu, at the foot of the Pantokrator mountain range, which at its summit, 915 metres, is the highest peak on the island. In the spring and in September the resort is a great place for relaxation, while during the months of high summer the locals as well as the holidaymakers, enjoy long days on the extensive beach of pure white pebbles. A Blue Flag beach, Barbati offers excellent bathing, which is complemented by a variety of watersports, and boat hire to explore the beautiful bays of the east coast. Nestling in the shade of olive trees are tavernas which serve lunch and refreshments. Barbati village is small and low-key, with a few good shops and well-regarded family-run restaurants serving traditional Greek specialties. For lovers of night life, Ipsos and Dassia, which offer a great variety of shops, restaurants, bars and nightclubs, are a short drive.

From Barbati, a road climbs up to Spartillas, a typical Corfiot mountain village with an amazing view - the whole island seems at your feet. Enjoy a refreshing cold frappè in one of the family-run cafes while enjoying the breathtaking view over the bays and headlands of Corfu. The area is a paradise for walkers, who can pick up the Corfu Trail from here, a waymarked route of 220 kilometres, leading from the island's southern trip to its northernmost point.
